The volunteers of both Face Maui and now SUM have consistently advocated with the County Administration and the Maui County Council to build affordable, decent homes for Maui’s people.
With our sister agency, Faith Action Hawaii, we advocated with the State of Hawaii to allow the State Driver’s license test to be done in multiple languages, not only English. This was approved.
SUM has also worked with Faith Action Hawaii to help home care workers get better pay and working conditions.
